AEC Engineering recently worked with the Pineland Farms Produce Division in New Gloucester, Maine, to design & build a new control panel and control system interface for their irrigation system after the existing operator interface suffered an unrecoverable failure.
Pineland Farms is a well-known agricultural operation that manages approximately 300 acres of produce and is part of a larger 5,000-acre working farm focused on agriculture, education, and recreation.
After determining their needs, AEC designed a new control panel featuring a Schneider M241 PLC for system control and a 10 inch touch screen for system users. Proposed upgrades included remote monitoring capabilities via cellular communications powered by a solar-charged battery.
